Big Change Coming to AIP Applications Starting May 1, 2025
Change Coming to AIP Applications
The Immigration and Population Growth (IPG) Branch is launching a new online system for submitting Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsements. This change is meant to make things faster, easier, and less confusing for employers.
What’s New in the System?
The new AIP portal will be:
- More user-friendly
- Mobile-compatible, so you can use it on your phone
- Designed to reduce mistakes with smart prompts and reminders
- Allow better user permissions, so employers can assign roles (like immigration reps) within their organization
How Do Employers Access the New System?
If you’re an employer already designated under AIP and want to submit an endorsement after May 1, you’ll need to:
- Fill out an Access Request Form
- Get your organization set up in the new AIP Online portal
Important: If you’re applying for a new designation, you’ll still use the current portal — no changes yet for that step.
Key Deadlines to Know
- The old system will stop accepting endorsement applications after April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
- If you send your application before this time, it’s fine, you don’t need to resubmit it.
- Existing designated employers can still use their designation, but must switch to the new portal for endorsements after May 1.
Why This Change?
This upgrade is part of a larger push to modernize how AIP is managed. The new system is based on a platform called LaMPSS, which is:
- Faster
- More reliable
- Cheaper to run Compared to older methods like email or mail, this digital option saves time for both employers and the government.
In Short: What You Need to Do
- Employers submitting endorsements after May 1, 2025: Use the new AIP Online portal
- Fill out the Access Request Form to get started
- If applying for a new designation, stay on the current system (for now)
