Canada’s 2025 Immigration Plan: New Express Entry Draws and Targets
The latest Express Entry draw happened on October 23, inviting 1,800 candidates in a special selection for trade jobs. This was the first draw since July that focused on a non-French-speaking category.
Today’s draw, the first one in November, comes right after Canada announced its 2025 Immigration Levels Plan. Under this plan, IRCC aims to welcome 124,680 Express Entry candidates next year.
The In-Canada Focus target aims for 82,980 permanent resident admissions, largely benefiting temporary residents already living in Canada. This group will make up about 40% of Canada’s total economic immigration for 2025. Many will likely be Express Entry candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Meanwhile, the Federal Economic Priorities target of 41,700 admissions will select candidates across all Express Entry programs. IRCC will focus on those who can fill key roles in healthcare and trades or meet French language targets for newcomers outside Quebec.
