Express Entry Draw 6300 CEC Candidate selected
Express Entry Draw Picked 6,300 CEC Candidates
Recently, there was a new draw for Canadian Express Entry. 6,300 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates were called to the Express Entry draw #304, which had the lowest CRS score of 515.
There is hope for CEC applicants in the pool as a result of this, as there have been more than twice as many invites given as in the first CEC-only Express Entry lottery in May 2024.
Trying to navigate the Canadian Express Entry system can feel like a complicated game. we need points to win (get invited to apply for permanent residence), but how many points are enough? It depends!
One thing that can seriously boost your score is a provincial nominee program.
- Draw Number: 304
- Program: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Date: July 17, 2024
- Invitations Issued: 3,600
- Minimum CRS Required: 515
With 17,361 invitations to apply given out thus far, July has surpassed the 16,110 invitations sent out in February 2024 to become the top month for Express Entry.
Category-based selection
In 2023, the IRCC introduced category-based selection as a means of focusing in greater detail on Express Entry applicants who have the most potential to improve a particular demography or assist Canada in immediately filling critical labor shortages. Consequently, this new approach aims to better align immigration targets with Canada’s economic and demographic needs.
To that end, the department introduced six potential categories in 2023 and announced earlier this year that these categories will remain in place until 2025. They include:
- Healthcare occupations
- Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
- Trades occupations, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Transport occupations
- Agriculture and agri-food occupations
- French-language proficiency
