Who Has Been Targeted in 2025?
This year, the majority of Express Entry draws have focused on:
- PNP candidates
- CEC applicants
- Those with French-language skills
- Candidates in specific priority job categories
Why Does Canada Use the CRS System?
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) helps Canada select skilled workers who are most likely to succeed in its job market.
Here’s why CRS is important:
- It uses a points-based system to assess candidates based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language ability.
- The system is based on years of research showing that certain traits help immigrants succeed in Canada’s workforce.
- Candidates with strong skills and qualifications are more likely to find good jobs and integrate easily.
CRS Results in Strong Outcomes
Research supports that the CRS works well. In fact, a 2020 IRCC report showed that immigrants who came through Express Entry since 2015:
- Have high employment rates
- Earn strong incomes
- Experience low unemployment
These results show that CRS is helping Canada choose the right candidates for long-term success.
