What is This New Plan
Over the next three years, Canada will increase the number of new immigrants to the country this is one of the most pivotal news for the immigrants aspiring to migrate to Canada. Now let us understand what this will mean for your Canadian journey. If we were to break down each year Canada will aim to welcome 465,000 new immigrants in 2023. The target will increase to 485,000 in 2024, and it will again rise in 2025 to 500,000 new immigrants. The plan also increases the focus on attracting newcomers to different regions of the country, mainly targeting small towns and rural communities to maintain an equal distribution of skills all over.
The new plan also aims to increase regional programs to address targeted local labour market needs, through the Provincial Nominee Program, the Atlantic Immigration Program, and the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. These programs are focused on dealing with the scarcity of labors that Canada is currently facing.
Why New Immigration Targets for Canada
The new plan embraces Immigration as a strategy to help businesses to find workers, which means it will help the business in finding the right skill they require to fulfill their labour shortage such as Health care, skilled trade, manufacturing, and technology. Now catering to this will help Canada to outgrow its economic instability in the future.
Changes in Express Entry and PNPs
The Target for Express entry will rise from 82,880 in 2023, 10,9020 in 2024, and 11,4000 in 2025
The PNP will remain Canada’s leading economic program and the targets will also increase.
Canada right now has a high humanitarian class target which will be lowered in the new Immigration plan by 72,750 in 2025.
