Canada Express Entry Draw Invites 2,000 Candidates at CRS 519
Introduction
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 2,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on September 15, 2026.

CEC CRS Cutoff Drops Again

Part-time work can also count if the candidate completes the equivalent of 1,560 hours of qualifying work experience.

CEC candidates must also meet the required language level.
For TEER 0 and 1 occupations, candidates need at least:
- CLB 7 in English, or
- NCLC 7 in French.
For TEER 2 and 3 occupations, the minimum requirement is:
- CLB 5 in English, or
- NCLC 5 in French.
IRCC accepts approved language tests such as CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training and PTE Core for English. For French, candidates can take TEF Canada or TCF Canada.
Does Education Matter for CEC?
CEC does not have a minimum education requirement for basic program eligibility.
However, education can still make a major difference to a candidate’s CRS score.
Therefore, candidates with higher educational qualifications may be able to improve their Express Entry ranking.
Candidates with foreign education may also need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if they want to claim points for their foreign credentials.

What Does the Express Entry Pool Tell Us?
The overall Express Entry pool included 20,784 candidates with CRS scores between 501 and 600 as of September 13.
However, this number represents the entire Express Entry pool. It does not show how many of these candidates specifically qualify under the CEC.
Therefore, candidates cannot use the overall pool numbers to determine exactly how many CEC candidates are competing at the 519 CRS level.
At the same time, candidates with scores below 519 may continue to look at other Express Entry options, including category-based draws or provincial nomination opportunities, if they meet the relevant requirements.
How Can Candidates Improve Their CRS Score?
Candidates who did not receive an ITA can review their profiles and look for ways to increase their CRS score.
For example, improving language test results can increase CRS points. Similarly, additional qualifying Canadian work experience can also help.
Education, age, work experience and spouse-related factors may also affect the final CRS score.
Furthermore, candidates should make sure that their Express Entry profile contains accurate information, including their correct NOC 2021 occupation code.
What Happens After Receiving an ITA?
Receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) does not mean that permanent residence has been approved.
Instead, the candidate must submit a complete permanent residence application within 60 calendar days.
IRCC will then review the application and supporting documents before making a final decision.
Therefore, candidates should prepare their documents carefully and submit their application within the required deadline.
