The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers three streams, with their respective pathways, through which you can immigrate to the province of Manitoba and become a permanent resident of Canada

The MPNP consists of four main immigration streams:

• International Education Stream (IES)
• Business Investor Stream (BIS)
• Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM)
• Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO)

The Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative is an effort to bring immigrants in specific targeted occupations to the rural town of Morden, Manitoba, situated 112 km southwest of Winnipeg. The targeted occupations include:

• Welders;
• Carpenters;
• Cooks; and
• Plumbers/Pipefitters.

Successful candidates and their dependent family members will become permanent residents of Canada.

• are registered as a corporation, limited partnership or sole proprietorship;
• are established in Manitoba for a minimum of three years;
• have a commercial business and are not home-based;
• have a minimum of $250,000 in gross revenue in the immediate three years preceding the application;
• have an established employer-employee relationship and the employee cannot be in a partnership or proprietor relationship with the employer (e.g., owner-operator in trucking industry or partnership in a restaurant);
• are not working with employment agencies using temporary workers;
• are not seeking to sell their business or portions of their business in the next two years;
• have a positive history with Employment Standards (no systemic history of non-compliance) and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, if applicable;
• are not currently on the Employment and Social Development Canada/Service Canada suspension list; and
• have not been assessed a fine for breaking the rules of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) or the International Mobility Program (IMP).

• Refugee claimants, or individuals involved in a federal appeal or removal process
• Live-in Caregivers currently living in Canada
• Temporary foreign workers currently working and residing in a province other than Manitoba
• Spouses of Canadian citizens or permanent residents
• Individuals who have been refused by the MPNP within the last six months and who are not able to address the reason(s) for refusal
• Individuals who have an active immigration application with any other provincial immigration program or federal immigration program in Canada. Note: an Express Entry profile is not considered an immigration application.

You need at least 3 years of full-time work experience within the last 5 years, either as an active business owner or in a senior management position at a thriving company.

Business owners receive more points than senior managers.

To qualify for points, business owners must hold a minimum ownership stake of 33 1/3%
