To meet the English requirements, you must provide proof of over 70% in English in high school, undergo an online interview conducted by the university, or present evidence that English was your medium of instruction in school.

To apply for a CAS, a medical test certified by the UK government from a listed hospital at UKVI is mandatory. You can learn more by visiting https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa . The test costs around 2000 INR and includes a TB test and a chest x-ray.

CAS stands for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies. UK immigration rules require your university to sponsor your student visa application, and you will need a CAS number to apply for a visa to study in the UK. The CAS is a crucial document for studying in the UK, and your institution will provide a unique reference number that corresponds with your CAS. You must include this reference number on your Tier 4 visa application form. The visa official processing your application will verify this number and the supporting documents to confirm you have an unconditional offer from the university

You must show that you have sufficient funds to support yourself, unless you have been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months by the time of your application.

The required amount depends on your study location. You need either:

  • £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) if studying in London
  • £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) if studying outside London

If you are boarding at a residential independent school, you will need to cover boarding fees instead. The amount required will be specified in your CAS.

With a Student visa, you can:

  • Study
  • Work as a student union sabbatical officer

Your ability to work depends on your course and whether you’re working during term-time or holidays.

You cannot:

  • Claim public funds (benefits) or pensions
  • Work in specific jobs, such as a professional sportsperson or sports coach
  • Be self-employed
  • Study at an academy or a local authority-funded (maintained) school
