While studying abroad, students can engage in full- or part-time internships in Auckland, where they gain practical international work experience and develop essential professional skills. Internships are offered in a variety of fields, such as business, marketing, arts, sustainability, and more, giving students a comprehensive view of the global job market and enhancing their study abroad journey.

  •  Proof of NZD $20,000 per year for tertiary, English language, or other non-compulsory studies, or NZD $1,667 per month for studies shorter than a year. For compulsory education (years 1–13), you need NZD $17,000 per year or NZD $1,417 per month.
  •  Documents confirming your living costs are covered, such as a homestay agreement,.
  • A completed ‘Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry’ from an acceptable sponsor.
  •  A completed ‘Financial Undertaking for a Student’ form.

English Language Proficiency Test are Important Requirement for English speaking countries.

New Zealand is no exception, IELTS serves as a Proof of candidates Language Proficiency when applying for Universities in the country.IELTS is accepted by New Zealand Immigration for issuing a student visa in New Zealand

To study in New Zealand as an international student, you’ll generally need a minimum overall IELTS band score of 5.5. For more detailed information on the specific IELTS requirements for top-ranked universities in New Zealand, read further.

The length of your Post Study Work Visa in New Zealand depends on the qualification you completed.

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree: If you completed a master’s or doctoral degree and studied for at least 30 weeks, you can stay and work in New Zealand for up to 3 years.
  • Qualification at Level 8 or Below: If you completed a qualification at level 8 or below, your visa will last as long as your course. For example, if your course is 32 weeks long, your visa will also be for 32 weeks.

However, if you take longer to finish your studies, your visa won’t be extended. If the actual length of your study differs from what’s in your offer, more information might be needed from your school.

 

To be eligible you must have held your resident visa for at least two years, have met any conditions of your Resident Visa, and have shown a commitment to New Zealand by meeting one of the following criteria:

  • You have spent enough time in New Zealand
  • You have New Zealand tax residence status
  • You have invested in New Zealand
  • You have a business in New Zealand
  • You have established a base in New Zealand

If you do not meet one of these conditions, you may still be eligible to extend the travel conditions on your Resident Visa. This would allow you a longer time to return to New Zealand as a resident.

If you wish to study abroad at postgraduate level, the tuition fees are typically higher and the costs vary depending on the program. As with most other countries, MBA programs are often the most expensive. The average cost for these programs ranges between NZ$31,000-50,000.

  1. Undergraduate Degree: $20,500–$25,000 annually
  2. Master’s Degree: $19,000–$29,000 annually
  3. Doctoral Degree: $6,500 – $9,000 annually
  4. MBA: $31,000 – $50,000 annually

 

In some universities, intakes may also be referred to as a semester. The two intakes available in New Zealand are:

  • Semester 1: February to June

  • Semester 2: July to November

Admissions for vocational courses may also be available in the months of March, April and May.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum score of 50-60%. Demonstrated English language proficiency through IELTS or similar exams.

 

  • Master’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum score of 50-60%. Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores for business programs. Some universities may value work experience or internships. English language proficiency must be proven through tests like IELTS.
