Quebec Holds New Skilled Worker Selection Draw

On July 3, 2026, Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) invited 501 skilled workers through the Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ). This was the sixth PSTQ draw of 2026 and also the one with the fewest invitations so far.

Most Invitations Went to Intermediate and Manual Workers

Among all four PSTQ streams, Stream 2 (Intermediate and Manual Skills) received the highest number of invitations.

  • Stream 1 – Highly Qualified & Specialized Skills: 74 invitations
  • Stream 2 – Intermediate & Manual Skills: 289 invitations
  • Stream 3 – Regulated Professions: 131 invitations
  • Stream 4 – Exceptional Talent: 7 invitations

Who Was Invited?

Overall, the invitations were sent to candidates who:

  • Were already living in Quebec
  • Had the required work experience
  • Met the eligibility rules for their specific stream
  • Worked in occupations based on Canada’s TEER job categories

Additionally, candidates in the Exceptional Talent stream needed experience in fields like research, arts, sports, or key economic sectors.

What Is the PSTQ?

The Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ) is Quebec’s main immigration pathway for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents.

First, candidates create a profile in the Arrima system. Then, Quebec reviews their profile based on factors such as their occupation, work experience, and ability to settle successfully in the province.

What Happens Next?

Candidates who receive an invitation can apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).

After receiving the CSQ, they can then apply to the Canadian federal government for Permanent Residence (PR).

Key Takeaway

Overall, this latest draw shows that Quebec continues to prioritize workers across different skill levels, especially those already living and working in the province. If you meet the eligibility requirements and have an active Arrima profile, you may have an opportunity to receive an invitation in future PSTQ draws.
