In category-based draws, the majority of ITAs have gone to candidates with French language skills, totaling 5,000 ITAs over two draws. Additionally, IRCC issued 3,750 ITAs to healthcare candidates on July 5 and 1,800 to trade occupation candidates on July 4.
Summary of Express Entry draw results in 2024.
This year, Canada will focus on inviting candidates in key areas like healthcare, STEM professions, trades, transport, and agriculture. Additionally, preference will be given to those with French language skills at NCLC 7 or higher.
Canada aims to welcome 110,000 new permanent residents through Express Entry in 2024, surpassing last year’s target of 82,880. Permanent residency allows individuals to live and work in Canada without visa renewals and provides immediate government health and social benefits.
Program-specific draws have been important, with IRCC inviting 11,300 CEC candidates and 3,275 PNP candidates by July 31. This return to program-specific draws on May 30, after a year’s break, supports IRCC’s plan to increase domestic draws.
Furthermore, IRCC has set a new goal to balance temporary residents with permanent resident targets, as outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.
