Overview of the PEI PNP Latest Draw

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) recently held another immigration draw, offering new opportunities for people who wish to settle in the province.

This time, the program issued more Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to:

  • Candidates working in PEI in key occupations, and
  • International student graduates from selected institutions.

So far in 2025, PEI has issued 1,081 ITAs under its Provincial Nominee Program.

Details of the Latest Draw

On October 17, 2025, the province invited candidates through two main immigration streams:

  1. Labour Impact
  2. PEI Express Entry

Altogether, 160 invitations went out — making it the second-highest number of ITAs in a single draw this year.

Who Qualified for This Round

To qualify, candidates had to:

  • Live and work in Prince Edward Island, and
  • Be employed in a sector that contributes to the province’s economic growth.

Moreover, international graduates from the following institutions received extra preference:

  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

Why Certain Occupations Were Prioritized

Since PEI has limited nomination spots and many applications, it now focuses on skilled workers who meet the island’s most urgent labour needs.

In 2025, the province is giving preference to professionals in:

  • Healthcare
  • Trades
  • Manufacturing

Meanwhile, according to PEI’s Office of Immigration, people working in sales or service roles may not receive invitations at this time.

Other Program Streams

Almost every draw this year has come from the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams.
Only one draw also included a candidate from the Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream.

How to Apply for PEI PNP

To apply for a nomination, foreign nationals must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to PEI.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Create and submit your EOI profile.
  2. Choose the stream (Labour Impact or Express Entry).
  3. Once you submit, your profile enters the candidate pool and receives a ranking.
  4. You can update your profile anytime.
  5. If you score high enough, the province invites you to apply for a nomination.

What PEI Looks For

The province evaluates candidates using several factors, including:

  • Language ability (English or French)
  • Education background – level, field, and where it was completed
  • Skills and work experience
  • Fit with PEI’s labour market needs
  • Employment factors, such as a job offer in PEI or Canadian work experience

Conclusion

Overall, this draw highlights how PEI continues to focus on skilled professionals who can support its economic growth.
If you wish to apply, make sure you:

  • Work in a high-demand sector,
  • Demonstrate strong language and job skills, and
  • Keep your EOI profile updated for future draws.
