What Happened in the Latest Express Entry Draw

Recently, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada conducted a new Express Entry draw.
In this draw, they invited 2,000 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category.

Minimum Score Requirement Increased

However, to get selected this time, candidates needed:

  • A minimum CRS score of 515
  • Also, they must have created their profile before June 10, 2025 (2:46 AM UTC)

As a result, the score requirement has reached one of the highest levels in 2026.

What This Means for Candidates

In simple terms, this shows that:

  • Competition is getting very high
  • Even small score differences can affect selection
  • Therefore, candidates need strong profiles (good IELTS, experience, etc.)

Key Highlight of This Draw

Interestingly, this draw was:

  • The 7th CEC draw in 2026
  • Also, the smallest CEC draw this year (only 2,000 invites)

Moreover, the CRS score increased by 6 points, which is the biggest jump seen this year.

Looking at the bigger picture, Canada is clearly focusing more on:

  • Candidates already in Canada
  • People with Canadian work experience
  • Applicants with provincial nominations

Most Frequent Draw Types

So far in 2026:

  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) – 8 draws
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – 7 draws
  • Other categories like French language, healthcare, trades – fewer draws

Who Is Getting the Most Invitations

Notably, CEC candidates are receiving the highest number of invitations.

Out of total 61,154 ITAs issued in 2026:

  • CEC alone received 32,250 invitations
  • French-language candidates got 18,000
  • Other categories received much fewer in comparison

Final Insight

Overall, this trend clearly shows that Canada is prioritizing:
– People already working in Canada
– Skilled candidates with real experience

Therefore, if you’re planning for PR, focusing on Canadian experience or strong profile building is becoming more important than ever.
