Manitoba Holds Its Largest Provincial Nominee Program Draw of the Year

On July 16, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 2,146 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. As a result, this became the largest Manitoba draw of 2026 and the biggest draw since September 2025.

The province invited skilled workers, international graduates, overseas applicants, and French-speaking candidates. Therefore, this draw highlights Manitoba’s continued efforts to attract skilled talent and support its labour market needs.

How Did Manitoba Distribute the Invitations?

Manitoba divided the invitations across three major immigration streams. However, the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway received the largest share.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

The province invited 1,982 candidates through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway. In fact, this stream accounted for more than 92% of all invitations.

Candidates qualified under three different categories.

1. Manitoba Graduates

First, Manitoba invited 1,874 graduates who completed their post-secondary education in the province.

To qualify, candidates had to:

  • Graduate from a recognized Manitoba post-secondary institution (or have a spouse who graduated there).
  • Score 825 or higher in the Expression of Interest (EOI) system.
  • Provide proof of graduation, including a diploma and transcript.

As expected, this category received the highest number of invitations.

2. French-Speaking Candidates

Next, Manitoba selected 84 French-speaking candidates.

To qualify, candidates had to:

  • Choose French as their language of communication with MPNP.
  • Submit valid French language test results.

As a result, the province continued to support bilingual immigration.

3. Healthcare Professionals

Meanwhile, Manitoba invited 24 healthcare professionals through an occupation-specific selection.

Eligible occupations included:

  • General Practitioners and Family Physicians
  • Specialists in Clinical and Laboratory Medicine
  • Specialists in Surgery

However, applicants must hold the required Manitoba licence before they can work in these regulated occupations. Otherwise, the province may refuse the application.

Skilled Worker Stream (Manitoba and Overseas)

In addition, Manitoba invited 86 candidates through the Skilled Worker Stream.

The province selected these candidates through strategic recruitment initiatives. The invitations included:

  • Employer Services – 32
  • Temporary Public Policy (TPP) – 18
  • Ethnocultural Communities – 17
  • Francophone Community – 11
  • Regional Communities – 8

Moreover, the Ethnocultural Communities initiative contributed a significant number of invitations during this draw.

International Education Stream

At the same time, Manitoba invited 78 international graduates through the Graduate Internship Pathway.

To qualify, candidates had to:

  • Complete a Master’s or PhD degree in Manitoba within the last three years.
  • Finish a Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate internship.
  • Meet a minimum language requirement of CLB/NCLC 7.

Consequently, Manitoba continues to encourage international graduates to build their careers in the province.

Express Entry Candidates Also Benefited

Additionally, 825 invited candidates had a valid Express Entry profile and Job Seeker Validation Code.

Because of this, these candidates may strengthen their pathway to Canadian permanent residence through an enhanced provincial nomination.

Why Did Some Eligible Candidates Miss This Draw?

Although some candidates appeared eligible, they still did not receive an invitation.

For example, some candidates:

  • Submitted expired or invalid English or French language test results.
  • Forgot to include a valid invitation number for a strategic recruitment initiative.

Therefore, candidates should review their profiles carefully and update all information before the next draw.

What Does This Draw Mean for Future Applicants?

Overall, Manitoba’s largest draw of 2026 reflects the province’s strong demand for skilled workers, healthcare professionals, international graduates, and French-speaking talent.
