July PNP Draws: Manitoba, Alberta, PEI, and Saskatchewan Invite Candidates
Manitoba, Alberta, PEI, and Saskatchewan Invite Candidates
So far this year, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) have remained a major highlight, along with region-specific pilot programs. Candidates can become permanent residents by applying directly through provincial streams. Alternatively, they may receive an invitation if their profile is already in the federal Express Entry pool.
Below is a snapshot of the Provincial Nominee Program activity in July 2019:
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)
In July, Alberta invited 180 candidates from the Express Entry pool who met the Alberta Express Entry Stream requirements. Moreover, Alberta conducted 17 draws earlier this year and issued around 4,000 Notices of Interest in total.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
Similarly, Manitoba invited 173 skilled workers under three immigration streams. These included Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Education.
Prince Edward Island (PEI)
Meanwhile, Prince Edward Island issued 135 invitations through its Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories. Notably, the PEI Express Entry stream connects directly with the federal Express Entry system to select candidates for permanent residence.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP)
At the same time, British Columbia issued 191 invitations under its Express Entry and Skills Immigration categories. The selected streams included Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level or Semi-Skilled Worker, along with candidates already in the Express Entry pool.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
Finally, Saskatchewan issued 381 invitations under its Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand draws. Currently, the province lists 19 occupations under its in-demand category.
