FAQs & Tips
When can I submit an Application for AAIP?
Only after receiving NOI are candidates are given a deadline before which they must submit a complete application. Later on, if the candidate’s application is approved, the province notifies acceptance on their IRCC account.
How Long Does AAIP Application Take ?
The AINP application process usually takes between 12 -16 weeks. The Alberta entrepreneur applications have a multi-step process that can take more than a year to complete entirely.
Is it easy to Immigrate to Alberta ?
Immigrating to Alberta is not a one-size-fits-all solution. What may be easy for one candidate may be difficult for another. It is therefore advisable to choose the stream that is right for you depending on your specific situation.
For example, if you are currently working in Alberta in an eligible occupation and wish to become a permanent resident, then you may be eligible through the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

Can I Apply for AAIP without a Job Offer ?
Yes. You do not need a job offer for four of Alberta's five immigration streams.
However, having a job offer may increase your chances under the Alberta Express Entry Stream
What is the difference between this category, and the International Graduate Category of the Employer-Driven Stream?
When applying under the International Graduate Category, the candidate must have a permanent and full-time job offer from an Alberta employer. The employer must also complete an application form under the International Graduate Category.
The Postgraduate Worker Category offers international students who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Alberta, and are working full-time in Alberta for an Alberta employer, the opportunity to apply without an employer.
What is the Self-Employed Farmer Stream ?
This stream is a process in which individuals with sufficient farming experience and personal funds to purchase and develop a farm in the province of Alberta can apply for permanent residence. These applicants must be farm owners/operators, and they must plan to reside in Alberta, where they will purchase or manage a farming business.
