Yes — many PGWP holders in Atlantic Canada use their job offers to apply under AIP.
Can I apply for AIP without IELTS or CELPIP?
No — AIP requires proof of language ability in English or French. You’ll need to take an approved test like IELTS General Training or CELPIP for English, or TEF for French.
Can I move to another province after getting PR through the AIP?
While PR lets you live anywhere in Canada, the program expects you to stay in your Atlantic province, especially in the initial years.
Can I switch from AIP to another PR program later?
Yes — if you meet the requirements, you can apply through other PR streams, but most applicants continue with AIP due to its employer support.
Can I work in Canada while my AIP PR application is processing?
Yes, if you have a valid work permit. The AIP also allows you to apply for a temporary work permit to start working sooner.
Do I have to live in the same province as my job offer under AIP?
Yes — you must intend to live and work in the same Atlantic province that endorsed you.
Do I need an LMIA for the AIP?
No, the AIP does not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
Do I need work experience for the AIP?
Most applicants need at least one year of work experience in a related field. International graduates from eligible Atlantic institutions may be exempt.
What if I lose my job during my AIP process?
