Canada’s Latest Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another targeted Express Entry draw on October 27, 2025, focusing on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. This draw aims to support regional economic growth by inviting skilled workers who can fill labour gaps across provinces.

In this round, 302 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued for Permanent Residency (PR). The minimum CRS score was 761, which is 17 points lower than the previous PNP draw held on October 14, 2025.

October 27 Draw Breakdown

This Express Entry draw was exclusive to PNP-linked profiles, meaning only candidates who already received a provincial nomination were invited.

Because a PNP nomination adds 600 additional points to your CRS score, it almost guarantees an invitation for PR.

Interestingly, this draw follows a series of PNP-specific rounds throughout 2025, including September’s record-high 855 CRS cut-off. These draws continue to target key industries such as technology, healthcare, and skilled trades.

Looking ahead, many expect IRCC to hold more draws soon — possibly for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or category-based selections.

How to Secure a Provincial Nomination

Getting a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination is one of the fastest ways to achieve Permanent Residency in Canada. However, competition is tough. Although Canada has reduced the overall PNP target to 55,000 for 2025, several provinces have received higher individual allocations.

Apply via Express Entry or Directly

You can apply for a PNP nomination in two ways:

a. Express Entry-Linked (Enhanced) Streams

  • Create or update your Express Entry profile and select your preferred province.
  • If a province sends a Notification of Interest (NOI), apply within 45 days.
  • Submit your documents — language tests, ECA, and proof of funds.
  • After nomination (takes about 2–6 months), you’ll get +600 CRS points, almost guaranteeing PR in the next draw.

b. Base (Direct) Streams

  • Apply directly to the province (application fees CAD $500–$2,000).
  • Once nominated, apply for PR with IRCC, which usually takes 15–19 months.

Tips to Boost Your Chances

To stand out and increase your CRS score:

  • Target in-demand jobs like nurses, engineers, or software developers.
  • Retake IELTS to reach CLB 9+.
  • Build connections — join job fairs, network on LinkedIn, or show genuine intent to live in the province.
  • Keep track of draws — for instance, Ontario’s June 2025 draw invited 3,719 candidates.
  • Finally, consult a licensed RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant) for expert strategy.

After Receiving Your Nomination

Once nominated, you’ll need to:

  • Update your Express Entry profile or submit your PR application
  • Prepare supporting documents — ECA, biometrics, etc.

Conclusion

The October 27, 2025 Express Entry draw has brought exciting news for 302 Provincial Nominee Program candidates, moving them a step closer to becoming permanent residents of Canada.

With a CRS cut-off of 761 and IRCC’s continued focus on regional talent, this draw reinforces how powerful a PNP nomination can be.

So, whether you’re a tech professional aiming for British Columbia or a healthcare worker planning for Ontario, now is the time to optimize your Express Entry profile, explore PNP options, and take one step closer to your Canadian dream.
