  • Draw number: 368
  • Number of invitations issued: 1,250
  • CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 505
  • Rank required to receive an ITA: 1,250 or above

This draw marks a significant increase in the CRS cut-off score compared to previous trade draws.

Comparison with Previous Trade Draws:

276December 19, 20231,000425
261August 3, 20231,500388

As the table shows, the CRS requirement in 2025 is significantly higher than in past years.

Why Did the CRS Go Up in 2025?

This year, IRCC added cooks to the Trade Category, making the pool much more competitive. With more applicants eligible under this stream, the CRS cut-off naturally increased.

Will There Be Another Trade Draw in 2025?

Yes. Based on trends, IRCC typically holds more than one trade category draw per year. We can expect at least one more draw before the end of 2025, and it is anticipated that the CRS cut-off will be lower than 505, giving more candidates a chance to qualify

How to Increase Your CRS Score for the Next Draw:

If your CRS score is currently below the cut-off, here are practical ways to improve it:

  1. Retake your language test (IELTS/CELPIP or TEF Canada): Even a slight improvement can give a big CRS boost.
  2. Gain more Canadian work experience: Skilled work experience in Canada adds valuable points.
  3. Check if you qualify for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Some provinces invite candidates directly from the Express Entry pool. A PNP can be a pathway to receive an ITA, and our team can help evaluate your eligibility.
  4. Maximize spousal points: If applicable, your spouse’s education, language test results, and Canadian experience can also increase your score.

Final Thoughts:

The September 18, 2025, Trade Category draw (#368) shows that Express Entry is becoming more competitive for tradespeople. With the inclusion of cooks in the trade category, the CRS cut-off rose sharply to 505.

However, candidates should stay optimistic. Another trade draw is expected before year-end, and the CRS cut-off is likely to drop, opening more opportunities for eligible trades professionals to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency.
