Benefit of CEC
Know about it
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is designed to help temporary foreign workers and international students transition to permanent residency, recognizing the advantage of prior Canadian work and life experience. Candidates benefit from higher CRS scores, boosting their chances in Express Entry. Successful applicants can often obtain permanent residency within six months. Unlike other programs, CEC candidates are not required to show proof of settlement funds.

How to become Eligible
Know about it
International students are one of the main groups who gain permanent residence through the CEC. The process usually starts by graduating from a Canadian designated learning institution, then applying for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). With the PGWP, you’ll need at least 1,560 hours of skilled Canadian work experience in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 job. You must also meet the language test requirements before entering the Express Entry pool. If you receive an invitation to apply, IRCC generally processes permanent residence applications in about six months.
