Therefore, individuals whose PGWP expires in 2023 can apply for an open work permit extension. Moreover, those who applied for a previous IRCC extension and whose PGWP expired in 2022 also qualify.

Starting April 6, eligible applicants can submit their extension request through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Once approved, applicants receive an interim work authorization email. Consequently, they can continue working legally while awaiting their new permit.
