Alberta Held Six Immigration Draws

Between July 3 and July 15, 2026, Alberta conducted six immigration draws under the AAIP. During this period, the province invited candidates whose skills and work experience matched Alberta’s labour market needs.

So far, Alberta has held 62 immigration draws in 2026. Overall, the province continues to hold regular draws to meet its workforce needs.

Which Occupations Were Targeted?

This time, Alberta mainly focused on candidates working in:

• Healthcare
• Technology (Tech)
• Law Enforcement
• Rural communities (people planning to live and work in rural Alberta)

As a result, professionals in these sectors had a better chance of receiving an invitation. In addition, Alberta continued to encourage candidates who are willing to settle outside major cities.

Which Immigration Streams Received Invitations?

The invitations were issued through several AAIP streams, including:

• Alberta Opportunity Stream
• Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry and Non-Express Entry)
• Alberta Express Entry Stream
• Accelerated Tech Pathway
• Law Enforcement Pathway
• Rural Renewal Stream

However, the Alberta Opportunity Stream received the highest number of invitations. In fact, it accounted for most of the invitations issued during these draws, continuing a trend seen throughout 2026.

Interestingly, the minimum scores remained very close, ranging from 52 to 55 points. Therefore, candidates with competitive profiles had similar chances across different draws.

Healthcare and Tech Continue to Be a Priority

Alberta continues to prioritize workers in healthcare and technology. At the same time, the province is encouraging skilled workers to settle in rural communities.

Moreover, Alberta is using these draws to address labour shortages in key industries. In fact, the July 3 healthcare draw through Express Entry was the largest healthcare-specific draw of 2026 so far.

How Many Invitations Has Alberta Issued in 2026?

So far, Alberta has issued 10,736 invitations to candidates interested in applying for a provincial nomination.

Overall, these invitations show that Alberta remains committed to attracting skilled workers. As a result, many eligible candidates have received opportunities to apply for permanent residence.

Alberta’s Nomination Allocation for 2026

For 2026, Alberta received 6,403 nomination spaces from the federal government.

As of July 15, 2026, the province has already used 3,582 nominations. However, many nomination spaces are still available across different streams.

Meanwhile, many candidates are still waiting in Alberta’s immigration pool.

As of July 15, 2026:

• 36,760 Worker Expressions of Interest (WEOIs) were in the pool.
• Approximately 62% of them belong to the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
• Additionally, 1,466 provincial nomination applications are waiting to be processed.

Therefore, competition remains strong, especially in Alberta’s most popular immigration streams. Even so, candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can still receive invitations in future draws.
